Cristiano Ronaldo Hails New Real Madrid Capture Karim Benzema

Karim Benzema will be presented as Real Madrid’s latest signing on Thursday evening at the Bernabeu, and any nerves he might have possessed ahead of the occasion will have been settled somewhat by the words of Cristiano Ronaldo, who has lavished praise on the young forward.

Speaking to French radio station RMC, Ronaldo had only words of encouragement for Benzema, who has previously played all his club football for Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais.

“Benzema is a great player,” enthused the world’s most expensive player. “He is eagerly anticipated here in light of what he did with Olympique Lyonnais. He will adapt very quickly because like me, he is young and has much to learn. It will be a lot of fun playing with him.”

Benzema has a formidable goal scoring record in France, netting 43 times in 112 league games. Perhaps more impressive is his ratio in the Champions League, in which he has scored on 12 occasions, despite playing just 19 games.

At just 21-years-old, ‘Benzinho’ has feature for the French national team on 24 occasions, but he has only managed to find the net six times for les Bleus. Goal.com
